Hotel The Verse, Lisbon
An aparthotel with a Portuguese soul, where design tells stories.
The Verse concept was born from the desire to create an aparthotel that combines residential comfort with the refined, contemporary aesthetics of a designer space. Housed in a renovated building in the São Bento neighborhood, the project respects the original architecture, introducing a serene and timeless visual language.
The design emphasizes fluidity and balance, with spaces characterized by a palette of neutral tones — beiges, creams, soft grays — and natural materials such as light wood, linen, iron, and marble. Organic textures and matte finishes create a sense of lightness and calm, while the furniture, with simple lines and elegant proportions, reinforces the functionality and comfort of the spaces. Each apartment was designed to be lived in, with special attention paid to ergonomics, natural light, and the daily rhythm of guests.
My contribution to the project involved curating decorative pieces , carefully chosen to complement the defined spatial language. The selection included locally produced objects and pieces with artisanal value, which introduce subtlety, warmth and authenticity to the spaces — without resorting to excess or the typical styling overlays. These pieces were designed as small visual and cultural accents, which elevate the narrative of the space and make it more intimate and emotional.
The Verse is, therefore, a place where design serves everyday life, and where each element — however discreet — contributes to the overall harmony of the experience.
