Material Care

All pieces deserve care to age gracefully, not with wear and tear. The following are general guidelines to preserve different types of materials over time.

General care

  • Prefer neutral and non-abrasive products.

  • Always test any cleaning method on an inconspicuous area before applying to the entire surface.

  • Use lukewarm water with mild soap as a first approach.

  • Dry after cleaning to avoid stains or corrosion.

  • Keep in dry environments, away from direct sunlight and prolonged humidity.

Textiles (cotton, linen, velvet, etc.)

  • Wash inside out, on gentle cycles and with neutral detergent.

  • Avoid aggressive spinning or high temperatures.

  • Do not use chlorine bleach.

  • Dry in the shade or in a ventilated place.

  • Store without excessive compression, allowing air circulation.

Glass and Crystal

  • Clean with warm water and mild soap.

  • Dry with a soft cloth to minimize scratches and marks.

  • Avoid thermal shocks between cold and hot.

  • Handle preferably by the main body of the object, avoiding delicate areas.

Plastic, Acrylic and Polymers

  • Clean with warm water and mild soap.

  • For stubborn stains, use diluted isopropyl alcohol (after pre-testing).

  • Avoid aggressive solvents like acetone.

  • Protect from prolonged sun exposure to prevent yellowing or brittleness.

  • Store in stable locations to avoid deformation.

Wood and Natural Laminates

  • Wipe with a lightly damp, well-wrung cloth.

  • Apply appropriate natural oil periodically when necessary.

  • Remove spilled liquids immediately.

  • Protect from excessively humid or dry environments.

Metals (brass, steel, copper, silver, etc.)

  • Clean with mild soap and warm water, then dry.

  • Polish with a soft cloth, avoiding abrasive friction.

  • Store away from excessive humidity, preferably with additional protection.

  • Avoid contact with acidic or chlorine-based substances.

  • For oxidizable metals, apply a specific polishing product as needed.
