Description

Large wooden carved spoon, with a handle decorated with geometric bone inlays. The elongated shape and the strong contrast between the dark wood and the light motifs give it a strong, almost sculptural graphic presence. Originally conceived as a utilitarian object, it now takes on an essentially decorative character, functioning as a wall piece or accent object with a strong cultural identity.

Due to its technique, materials, and decorative language, the piece can be associated with artisanal traditions of West Africa, with possible provenance from groups such as the Baule (Ivory Coast) or Senufo (Mali / Burkina Faso), known for their wood carving with inlays and strong graphic symbolism.

Origin: West Africa (likely Ivory Coast / Mali / Burkina Faso)
Date/Period: 20th Century
Manufacture: Handcrafted
Artisan/Author: Traditional African production
Materials: Carved wood, bone
Dimensions: approx. 28 cm (length)
Condition: Good vintage condition, with signs of age and use

Note: small variations, marks and irregularities are natural in handcrafted pieces and are part of their authenticity and history.
