Description

A solid, earthy piece, straight from the kilns of French ceramic tradition. The robust body is enveloped in a runny glaze in caramel and brown tones, typical of flammé stoneware—a technique that requires high temperatures and reveals unique patterns with each firing. The sinuous, almost baroque handles give it a sculptural presence. The handwritten inscription "Val-André" refers to the coastal village of the same name in Brittany, suggesting a past linked to vacations, the sea, and local artisanal production. With the original seal still intact, this jug is more than decorative: it is a warm testament to French ceramic savoir-faire of the 1970s.
